Our Visionary Leader

Sir Jamieson Slough, the founder of Reboot U, is a Marine Corps veteran driven by a passion to transform health care for millions of military patriots. His vision is to expand cutting-edge non-evasive health solutions that help individuals avoid opioid usage, surgeries, and injections, while addressing chronic and acute pain, sleep issues, and recovery needs.

Our Team

Dr. Steve Mertz, DC and Jamieson Slough have been friends for over two decades, bonded by a brotherhood of service and community giving. Dr. Mertz, DC who operates our clinic, brings over thirty years of chiropractic experience and is a master of Chiropractic Biophysics with nine years of expertise in regenerative medicine. His dedication to delivering much-needed therapy to our clients is a cornerstone of our practice.

Kevin McAllister joined our mission as the first patient and investor. With over five decades of business success, Kevin's background as a real estate investor and national-level triathlete and racquetball player adds to our ability to expand and help thousands of people in Southern California.

Tara Vu recently joined the team and is the Assistant Care Coordinator at Reboot U Ocenaside. He amazing attitude and talent brings great energy to the clinic and our patients.

Our Growth

We launched in February 2025 and have been growing rapidly. Within just three weeks, we hired Tara Vu, an exceptional Physicians Assistant. Tara is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Minor in Integrative Health & Wellness, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Her addition to Reboot U Oceanside has been invaluable, enhancing our ability to provide top-tier care.

Dr. Steve Mertz, DC

Clinic Director & Chiropractor

STEPHEN MERTZ, DC is a Chiropractic Rehabilitation Specialist fully trained in chiropractic care but also has had extensive training in rehabilitation and physiologic therapeutics in order to better treat injuries. He uses passive and active therapies that include chiropractic adjustments as well as coping strategies for those who need to decrease their anxiety and fear due to pain. Dr. Mertz's goal is to restore strength and muscle tone to the musculoskeletal system by using targeted exercises and therapies to maximize stability and help prevent a reoccurrence of the problem.

Chiropractic Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator for Reboot U Oceanside clinic. Tara has just completed her Bachelor of Science in Public Health, and minor in Integrated Health & Wellness. She graduated Magna Cum Laude!!!

Tara assesses a multitude of tasks throughout the day while prioritizing verbal and written communication. Tara works closely with Dr. Steve Mertz to provide comprehensive medical services, ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate diagnoses and treatments. Her empathetic approach to patient interactions fosters a supportive and reassuring environment, which is essential for patient recovery and well-being.
